Sip Social believe that there's nothing quite like sharing a drink and some laughs with good company and they are here to help you make those connections. In a condensed timeframe of under two months, we undertook the challenge of not only establishing a robust brand strategy but also crafting a vibrant visual identity and launching an MVP application.
They have realised that the current social networking landscape is disjointed, with a heavy focus on dating and insufficient platforms that encourage authentic, local interactions in the U.S. market. Local influencers and creatives lack a suitable platform for visibility, while local businesses struggle with maintaining steady patronage.
We dived into an intensive 2-week research sprint, interviewed professionals and business owners, Investigated forums and social platforms with a focus on the current FB group and mapped out a competitor and SWOT analysis. Overwhelmed with insights, we started prioritising and form our strategy to deliver the work on time.
Our strategic decision to embrace a Neo-Brutalist brand for Sip Social reflects a commitment to innovation and a deep understanding of contemporary design trends. By infusing bold and vibrant colours into a playful font, we manifested a Gen Z-inspired aesthetic. This deliberate design choice captures the core playfulness inherent in the values that Sip Social cherishes - fostering connections and shared enjoyment.
Our approach was methodical, beginning with an in-depth analysis to formulate a brand strategy that aligned seamlessly with Sip Social's vision. This strategy became the guiding light for crafting a visually distinctive user experience. We developed functionalities to enable users to create and invite others to Clubs and Events, fostering a sense of community and interaction, including the integration of a dynamic map feature to filter events. We incorporated a messaging chat feature and devised a subscription model leveraging the Apple Store platform. These elements were carefully integrated to enrich user interaction and streamline the user journey. The Neo-Brutalist style, chosen for its boldness and resonance with the target audience, was meticulously implemented across all touchpoints, from the website to the MVP application.
In just two months, Sip Social witnessed remarkable results. The app received positive feedback from users during testing phases. As a result, Sip Social garnered 50,000 pre-launch sign-ups, indicating a strong interest in the concept, and achieved a 30% user retention rate within the first month of beta testing.
